I had my account hacked and stolen last year, but was able to get it back with no ill effect. I had used steam since the half life 2 days and loved playing CS:GO despite being pretty bad at it. It's not only a possibility, but happens all the time. If anyone has an insider at Valve that can help look into this I can share more specific detail about my account for an investigation. When/If my false positive is removed, I will post an update here. I wish I could play CSGO if I wanted, but sometimes luck just isn't on our side. Valorant got a hotfix for the patch issues and I can play again, so that's good news.

For folks not believing me, I completely understand why you would think that, but I hope that you never run into this situation because it's very frustrating.

Last edit: thanks to all the folks giving support. I guess I'm just looking for some hope that there have been others in my situation who got their false positive overturned quickly. It's incredibly depressing and frustrating, I feel helpless and betrayed by a company I've supported for over a decade. I've been doing research and so far have opened a support ticket but understand how fucked I am right now. I quit after those two games and logged in a few days later after moving to find that I am VAC banned.

I played two games of unrated on my 10+ year Steam account to try to get into CS:GO while Valorant is still bugged and unplayable. I did not cheat but I do understand that you will go with the likely conclusion that represents the truth to 90% of these posts - cheaters crying after being banned. I understand the scrutiny you must have for me reading this.
